Young N. Nguyen

Founder and Chief Executive Officer

Young is a technology visionary who conceptualized and developed the transformative technologies of d2o. Over the past 12 years, he has been realizing his vision for achieving simplicity from complexity for users of technology. Throughout his career, he has parlayed his operational experience in F&B management and hotel operations at some of Europe’s leading hotels into game changing technology for hotel operators.

Recognized as a thought leader, Young has received multiple awards for industry innovation and company performance. And he is a frequent industry speaker and guest lecturer. He studied hospitality and tourism, finance and organizational behavior at Cornell University, Norwegian School of Economics (NHH) and Glion, and has an MBA from Heriot-Watt University.

Hoang N. Nguyen

Chief Operating Officer

Hoang is responsible for operational leadership of d2o’s key activities and resources ranging from how we develop software and service offering to how we deliver our value proposition to help the customers get the “job done” with positive and lasting benefits.

He has more than 17 years of management consulting experience from ACN, PwC and IBM. He has held leadership responsibilities for large-scale IT-enabled business transformation and application outsourcing engagements for global clients. Hoang brings a broad international business perspective drawing on work experience from Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe and USA.

Prior to joining d2o, he was IBM GBS Nordic Oil & Gas leader, and a member of IBM GBS Norway leadership team. Hoang holds a Bachelor of Science from Norwegian School of Economics (NHH).

Svend Fimland

VP of Innovation and R&D

Svend is responsible for managing the process of innovation and R&D in d2o. His primary focus is to rapidly drive realization of radical and breakthrough ideas from concept development through to solution specification by also leveraging open innovation.

With more than 24 years of experience in IT, he combines his deep passion for technology with pedagogical or instructional insight to provide the best user experience for d2o customers. His broad expertise ranges from usability design and software development to application integration and systems operations and maintenance.

Svend holds Master of Arts in Pedagogics from Vestfold University College and Project Management study at Norwegian Business School.

Henrik Gerdin

VP of Benefits Realization Enablement

Henrik is responsible for Business Benefits Realization Enablement team, whose mission is to enable our customers achieve measurable and lasting operational improvement through effective adoption of PMI product and best practices.

Henrik has more than twenty years of professional experience in the hospitality business. He successfully rose through the ranks until he decided to move to d2o in 2010 to dedicate his professional focus on learning different ways of thinking and doing things. He enjoys the great privilege of interacting with some of the brightest minds to help resolve complex issues and requirements across continents.

As co-product owner, he passionately examines a stream of new ideas through a systemic lens to continuously evolve smarter practices and embed these in PMI functionality to help hoteliers get their daily ”job” done in a better way.

Henrik completed his Bachelor of Science in Hospitality Management with first-class honours from Oxford Brookes University.

Laurence Massem

VP of Finance

Laurence combines financial and accounting expertise with hospitality operations experience in her role as financial manager for d2o.

With over 16 years in the industry, she has worked with several of the world’s leading hotel brands in a range of functions – from new hotel openings to sales & catering. Her hands-on experience and knowledge of the global hotel industry provide a strong foundation for the international scope of d2o’s global customer relationships.

She studied hotel and operations management, and English at L’Institut Supérieur de Gestion Hôtelière, Naerings Akademie, and BI Norwegian Business School.
