A 20-plus-year partnership enters a new chapter with Resthon

Long partnerships allow each new phase to begin with shared experience rather than a blank page.

In October 2025, Thon expanded a relationship with d2o spanning more than 20 years into another part of the group: the restaurant and entertainment operations of Resthon AS.

The announced rollout covered 17 restaurants operated by Resthon. The scope explicitly included businesses ranging from Abelone Kjøkken & Bar in Oslo and Liv & Røre in Moa to The Scotsman.

The distinctive part of the story was not simply the number of venues. It was the movement of an established operating approach from a long hotel relationship into a different collection of restaurant, pub and entertainment environments.

Those businesses had their own concepts and trading patterns, but they could draw on management experience developed over more than two decades of collaboration.

The Resthon rollout brought together PMI Revenue & Productivity and PMI Planning. The implementation was intended to help restaurant managers work with clearer expectations, connect resources with anticipated activity and keep operational decisions aligned with financial targets.

It also illustrated how Profit Conversion Management™ could extend across hospitality formats. The practical details differ between a hotel, restaurant and pub, but each must decide how to prepare for demand and deploy its resources while there is still time to influence service and profitability.

For Thon, the expansion built on an established history with d2o. For Resthon, it opened a new phase in which restaurant managers would apply that experience within the realities of their own venues.

The announcement recorded a partnership entering a new chapter: a management approach shaped through more than 20 years of hotel operations being carried into 17 Resthon restaurants.

Shared experience provided the foundation. Resthon’s operating environments would shape what came next.
