Sets Sights on Future with decade2 Initiative for Ongoing Client Success

ATLANTA – October 5, 2010 – d2o, “deadline 2 online,” the provider of the web-based Performance Management Intelligence (PMI) suite, is celebrating its 10th anniversary and launching the decade2 initiative. This program ensures ongoing success for customers over the next decade. PMI enables hotel and resort managers to oversee daily costs in as little as five minutes a day.

“While we are proud of our first decade providing tools for revenue forecasting, labor productivity, and management intelligence, our decade2 initiative shows that our focus is firmly on the future,” said Young N. Nguyen, founder and CEO of d2o. “We want to help our clients remain profitable for the next 10 years and beyond.”

Keys to Success: Perseverance and Profitability

According to Nguyen, the same qualities that built d2o will drive decade2 forward:

  • Perseverance: After escaping Vietnam with his family in 1978, Nguyen grew up in Norway and later founded d2o in 2000. Since 2005, the company has held a AAA financial reliability rating from Dun & Bradstreet.
  • Focus on profitability: While working at a leading hotel company, Nguyen saw that managers lacked daily visibility into their costs. He launched d2o to solve this problem. Today, more than 400 hotels in the U.S. and Europe use its software.
  • Innovation: With 60% market share in Norway, d2o has earned awards such as the Deloitte Technology EMEA Fast500 and Norway Technology Fast50, underscoring its reputation for innovation.

Simplifying the Complex

“Simplicity can only be achieved by those who understand complexity,” Nguyen explained. “Competitive advantage comes to those who solve complex problems with simple solutions. That is what we deliver to our clients.”

Looking Forward

Nguyen continues to focus on growth, particularly in the U.S. market. “Our next step is to develop management tools with integrated artificial intelligence that guide hotels strategically,” he said. “These tools will provide coaching so managers can continuously refine their leadership and business skills. We have aggressive financial goals, and we fully expect to meet them as PMI expands across the U.S.”

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, d2o is hosting its executive team and long-term clients at a three-day event in Istanbul, titled “Hard Labor and Success.”
