Instructions

All historical labor hours are entered in PMI by importing from a timekeeping system (TKS), editing the schedule or directly in the labor cockpit. As a general rule, all cockpits should be updated and saved Monday through Friday by 10 a.m. (5 times per week). The first part of the daily routine is to make sure that historical days are registered with correct hours i.e. all paid hours, productive and non-productive.

When reviewing the cockpit, pay attention to actual and scheduled productivity vs targeted productivity.

  • Are you working as expected?
  • Do you need to make amendments to the future schedule?
  • Was there a big discrepancy yesterday? If so, why? How was the service level affected? How did the staff cope? Write a comment to explain.

Working with import from a TimeKeeping System (TKS)

  • Hours from your TKS is imported 2-4 times per day, depending on settings. PMI receives a file from your property with codes for department, position and shifts.
  • If imported hours are not true, you need to update the TKS.
  • Verify the correct hours for the employees
  • Ensure the hours are approved
  • Make sure the employee is registered in the correct department
  • Make sure the correct codes have been used
  • If the hours are still not correct after the next import, there may be an error in the mapping – please contact your controller who will make the necessary changes.

Working with PMI Schedule

  • Verify and update productive and non-productive hours from yesterday (or since last save) and save.
  • If the initially scheduled hours did not match the actual hours, all changes must be done in the cockpit. Changes to passed days in the schedule are not transferred to the cockpit.

Troubleshooting tips

This section provides additional troubleshooting advice for readers experiencing specific issues. While it’s packed with useful insights, you may skip it if you’re not facing any related problems.

Scheduled Horizon Misunderstanding

The Scheduled Horizon in the labor cockpit is a common source of confusion. It's important to understand that adjusting the Scheduled Horizon does not affect the import of hours from your TimeKeeping System (TKS).

The Scheduled Horizon setting is mainly used to determine how many days into the future you can see in your cockpit. It does not control or extend the number of days for which data is imported from your TKS . If you're not seeing the expected data in your cockpit, it's likely an issue with the TKS data or the mapping settings, not the Scheduled Horizon.

Incorrect codes in TKS

Make sure the correct codes have been used in your TKS. If the hours are still not correct after the next import, there may be an error in the mapping – please contact your controller who will make the necessary changes.
